Rice leaving the press conference\u003cbr/\u003eUS Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice met Chinese state councillor Tang Jiaxuan in Beijing on Sunday, a week before the councillor is due to visit North Korea.\u003cbr/\u003eAt a news conference earlier on Sunday, Rice warned that North Korea's decision to resume nuclear disarmament talks didn't mean the United States was any closer to its long-standing goal of a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula.\u003cbr/\u003eAs Rice arrived in Beijing on Saturday night, North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Gye Gwan told US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill that his government was prepared to return to the bargaining table during the week of July 25 after a year-long boycott.\u003cbr/\u003eThe six-party discussions, in addition to the United States and North Korea, involve China, South Korea, Japan and Russia.
