American officials don't know the whereabouts of Taliban leader Mullah Omar, according to the Commander of U-S Operations in Afghanistan.\u003cbr/\u003eCentral Command Chief, General Tommy Franks, said U-S forces were blocking Taliban fighters with strikes from from the air and with what he called \"direct fire from the ground.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIn a teleconference with reporters in Florida and at the Pentagon on Friday, Franks said the fate of Taliban leader Mullah Mohammed Omar wasn't clear.\u003cbr/\u003eHe said the military coalition was still engaged in the area of Kandahar, but couldn't confirm whether or not Mullah Omar was there.\u003cbr/\u003eFranks said U-S officials had made it clear to interim Afghan leader Hamid Karzai that America wants \"to be sure that we have no
