Wide of OECD conference \u003cbr/\u003eGovernments looking to boost growth should focus on further narrowing the \"gender gap\" that continues to hold women back in education, employment and entrepreneurship, a new report said on Monday.\u003cbr/\u003eWomen continue to earn less than men, are less likely to make it to the top of the career ladder and are more likely to spend their final years in poverty, according to the report, entitled \"Closing the Gender Gap,\" released by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).\u003cbr/\u003eOECD Secretary-General Angel Gurria said progress had been made but more needed to be done to bridge gaps in employment, education and entrepreneurship.\u003cbr/\u003e\"You still see, in fact sometimes the differences becoming larger instead of disappearing. So, we have to get on with the public policies, with very deliberate public policies,\" Gurria said.\u003cbr/\u003eIn the workplace, a \"glass ceiling\" still inhibits women's earnings and professional advancement, the OECD said. \u003cbr/\u003eWomen earn on average 16 percent less than men in OECD countries, and the disparity widens the higher up the corporate ladder women climb. \u003cbr/\u003eAmong female top-earners, women are paid 21 percent less than male counterparts, the OECD found.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Women are the most underutilised economic asset and we cannot afford
