months would be critical in Iraq and will be key to the eventual withdrawal of US troops and coalition forces. \u003cbr/\u003eHe said increasing problems with corruption in Iraq make it more difficult for coalition forces.\u003cbr/\u003eSenate Democrats hit out at the panel, which included Chairman of the Joint Chiefs General Peter Pace and the Army Chief of Staff General Peter Schoomaker, on domestic surveillance of anti-war protesters and spending on troop levels.\u003cbr/\u003eRanking Minority Member Senator Carl Levin expressed concern about whether the Pentagon is spending enough on troops levels and equipment that is damaged and destroyed in Iraq and Afghanistan.\u003cbr/\u003eSchoomaker defended funding, say morale and recruiting were fine and that the Army was not \"broken\"
