Since Monday we have nothing to eat.\" \u003cbr/\u003e(Ted Shaffrey, The Associated Press) \u003cbr/\u003e\"The idea here is to give the aid to women only, so they can distribute it.\" \u003cbr/\u003eThis has resulted in massive crowds of women gathering at the aid distribution point, policed by the US Army''s 82nd Airborne. \u003cbr/\u003eThey let a few people in at a time, picked randomly from the crowd. \u003cbr/\u003eThey each grab a carton of water and a bag or bucket of food. \u003cbr/\u003e(Lane Hartill, Catholic Relief Services) \u003cbr/\u003e\"The idea is to bring the women out of the crowd, give them the buckets, because those are the women who prepare the food at home and they know who best to distribute it to.\" \u003cbr/\u003eThis 80 year old woman lost her home in the earthquake and is now sleeping outside. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I''m very happy because I have my food, I need it, and now I have it.\" \u003cbr/\u003e(show hand reaching into food kit and showing peanut butter) \u003cbr/\u003eThe meals have lots of protein, according to the charity group that put them together. \u003cbr/\u003e(Alexander Buehler, Caritas International) \u003cbr/\u003e\"It''s very nutritious food, like peanut butter, which can be if you use it correctly. It has sardines, it has pasta, so it has all those small details you can store for a certain time, and reuse, and reuse.
