death after spiking his milkshake with sedatives.\u003cbr/\u003eNancy Kissel's attempt to overturn the verdict in what has become known as the \"Milkshake Murder\" will reopen a sensational trial in a case allegedly involving sexual abuse, cocaine use and adultery.\u003cbr/\u003eThe eight-day hearing will be held before three judges at Hong Kong's Court of Appeal.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Sunday, her defence lawyer declined to discuss the grounds for the appeal or his client's condition in prison.\u003cbr/\u003eDuring a three-month trial in 2005, prosecutors said Kissel had an affair with a repairman who worked on the couple's vacation home in the northeastern US state of Vermont. \u003cbr/\u003eShe comes from Minnesota.\u003cbr/\u003eHer husband, Robert, found out about the affair and had planned to seek a divorce just before she killed him on November 2, 2003, the prosecution said.\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors said that Kissel drugged him using a milkshake laced with the \"date-rape drug\" Rohypnol and hours later bludgeoned him to death with a metal ornament in the bedroom of their Hong Kong luxury apartment.\u003cbr/\u003eShe later wrapped the body in a rug and asked maintenance workers to move it to a storeroom near the apartment complex, prosecutors said.\u003cbr/\u003eKissel said she killed her spouse, a native of New York state, in self-defence because her husband was wielding a baseball bat. \u003cbr/\u003eShe said he was a violent, short-tempered cocaine addict.\u003cbr/\u003eA seven-member jury unanimously found her guilty of murder.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to prosecutors, Robert Kissel's estate, comprising life insurance, stocks and properties was worth 18 million (m) US
