said the Taliban regime in Afghanistan was the first to fall in the US-led war against terror. \u003cbr/\u003eBush did not say what nation might be next, but he referred to US efforts in Yemen, the Philippines and Georgia to uncover signs of al-Qaida activity. \u003cbr/\u003eHis comments come amid fresh questions about the whereabouts of terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden.\u003cbr/\u003eAt the Pentagon Wednesday, US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld and General Richard Myers also gave a spirited defense of the US battle plan in Afghanistan.\u003cbr/\u003eHe referred to \"a rather effective use of coalition forces\" - a reference to the decision to let anti-Taliban Afghan forces fight Taliban troops on the ground or persuade them to switch sides, while the US contribution during the first phase of the war was largely limited to high altitude bombing.  \u003cbr/\u003eThey insisted the US wasn't wrong in the decision not to use a large American ground force to search for bin Laden
