Street scene\u003cbr/\u003eMillions of viewers across the Arab world are set to watch the final of Superstar - the Middle Eastern version of the hit British talent contest programme, Pop Idol - on Sunday night. \u003cbr/\u003eThe two finalists, Shahd Barmada and Ibrahim El Hakami, were rehearsing all day on Saturday, getting ready for their big night.\u003cbr/\u003eBarmada and El Hakami have spent the last three months rehearsing in Beirut and have seen off ten others to become Sunday night's finalists.  \u003cbr/\u003eEl Hakami, aged 26, from Saudi Arabia, hopes to win, but said he's already happy with the whole experience.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I came to Lebanon and I've met several people and I've learnt to sing all kinds of songs because before I was just singing songs from the Gulf,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eHowever, the favourite is Shahd Barmada a 17-year-old from Syria.\u003cbr/\u003eHer nationality was seen by some as a possible obstacle to winning the contest, especially because the television channel which hosts the programme, Future TV, is owned by the family of assassinated Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri.\u003cbr/\u003eHariri was killed in a bomb attack in February 2005. Many have accused Syrian officials of involvement - a charge they deny. \u003cbr/\u003eShahd said: \"We should not be racist and include politics in art.\"\u003cbr/\u003e\"I am happy here and feel as if I am with my people and I don't know how I will go back home because I got used to this,\" she said.\u003cbr/\u003eOn the streets of Beirut, people were generally supportive of the Syrian contestant. \u003cbr/\u003e\"If you are a music listener, you have to listen to the music and you have to ignore the other factors, no matter what kind of person he is or from what nationality,\" said one student.\u003cbr/\u003eHundreds of contestants from all over the Arab world took part in the competition, with the only requirement being that they had to sing in Arabic.\u003cbr/\u003eThe winner
