Prosecution team walks out of courthouse\u003cbr/\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eDefence and prosecution lawyers in the Terry Nichols trial made their closing arguments at his trial in Denver on Monday.\u003cbr/\u003eNichols is accused of assisting in the Oklahoma City bombing, \u003cbr/\u003eThe prosecution told jurors that Nichols all but abandoned his family, took up with Timothy McVeigh and set out on a \"road to destruction.\"\u003cbr/\u003eBut the defence lawyers said the government's case was \"woefully lacking\", and accused the F-B-I of mishandling evidence.\u003cbr/\u003eThe trial of Terry Nichols entered its final days in Denver, Colorado on Monday with the prosecution and defence beginning to wrap up their cases.\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors contend Nichols and McVeigh decided to bomb the federal building to avenge the April 19, 1993, government raid at the Branch Davidian compound near Waco, Texas.\u003cbr/\u003e80 people died in the raid when the Branch members set fire to the compound.\u003cbr/\u003eAlthough the prosecutors say Nichols was not actually in Oklahoma City the day the building blew up, they claim he helped build the bomb and arrange McVeigh's getaway.\u003cbr/\u003eFor three hours prosecutor Beth Wilkinson traced the movements of Nichols and McVeigh in the seven months leading up to the bombing. \u003cbr/\u003eShe used a poster board to show the before-and-after photos and the links connecting the two men.\u003cbr/\u003eShe told jurors that Nichols all but abandoned his family, took up with Timothy McVeigh and set out on a \"road to destruction.\"\u003cbr/\u003eShe detailed each step the U-S Army buddies allegedly took before the blast - hiding behind aliases, renting storage sheds, collecting\u003cbr/\u003ebomb components and finally building the bomb that took 168\u003cbr/\u003elives.\u003cbr/\u003eNichols' parents, two of his siblings and his wife, Marife attended the hearing.\u003cbr/\u003eAlthough he could get the death penalty if convicted of murder and conspiracy, stared straight ahead at jurors throughout much of the day.\u003cbr/\u003eBut he gulped and swallowed hard when Wilkinson said he intended there to be \"death, destruction and chaos on April 19, 1995, and there was.\"\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutor Beth Wilkinson told the jury that at each stop along the road, Terry Nichols made a choice, a choice to participate in the plot to bomb and kill.\u003cbr/\u003eObservers say the prosecution's biggest hurdle was getting the jury to understand the case.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Prosecutors did what they needed to do today. They had to make a very complex case simple for jurors to understand. They brought in charts and diagrams. They hope the jury understands there case. Prosecutors know if the jury can understand their case, they're more like to convict.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Andrew Cohen, C-B-S Radio legal analyst \u003cbr/\u003eThe defence began its closing arguments by attacking the government's case.\u003cbr/\u003eOver and over again, lead defence attorney Michael Tigar reminded jurors the prosecution's case was not what it seemed. \u003cbr/\u003eHe accused the F-B-I of mishandling evidence, calling into question the Ryder truck panel that contained embedded ammonium nitrate crystals to the drill bits found at Nichols' house that purportedly link him to the quarry robbery.\u003cbr/\u003eAbout two dozen bombing victims were seated in the rows behind Nichols.\u003cbr/\u003eThey were not convinced by the defence's case.\u003cbr/\u003e\"This afternoon when the defence took over, Tiger's a great orator, but what I was hearing was Tiger Tales. He was hoping he could suck in somebody from one of the jurors that can be mesmerized by what he has to say in his delivery, but as far as I'm concerned there is enough evidence to support a
