President...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eEnglish/Nat\u003cbr/\u003eApparently trying to speed up his investigation, Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr used two grand juries simultaneously on Thursday to take testimony from Secret Service officers in the Monica Lewinsky investigation. \u003cbr/\u003ePresident Bill Clinton's chief bodyguard and Harold Ickes, one of his informal political advisers, appeared on Thursday at the courthouse where a grand jury is taking testimony in the investigation.\u003cbr/\u003eSecret Service agent Larry Cockell, who temporarily stepped aside from his post overseeing the president's security detail, was subpoenaed along with uniformed officers who began testifying last week.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's been a steady stream of witnesses in and out of the courthouse where the Monica Lewinsky grand jury meets.\u003cbr/\u003ePresident Clinton's lead agent, Larry Cockell, testified for an hour and his lawyer\u003cbr/\u003esaid he did not invoke any type of privilege.\u003cbr/\u003e\"They have excused him and so we believe that all of his obligations under the subpoena have been satisfied.
