because the auto maker tried to blame accidents under federal investigation on tyres supplied by the firm.\u003cbr/\u003eThe decision will pit Bridgestone against Ford in its proposed recall of an additional 10 million Firestone tyres. \u003cbr/\u003eAt a press conference held at the company headquarters in Tokyo, Watanabe said he gave Bridgestone/Firestone chief executive, John Lampe, several options in dealing with Ford, and \"the worst possible scenario\" was ending the relationship. \u003cbr/\u003eFirestone, which is Bridgestone's US subsidiary, had announced on Monday it was ending its almost 100-year business relationship of supplying tyres to the Ford Motor Company.\u003cbr/\u003eThe companies have been locked in battle since the Japanese subsidiary was forced to recall millions of Firestone tyres installed on Ford sport utility vehicles last summer.\u003cbr/\u003e174 deaths have now been linked to the tyres and both companies face hundreds of lawsuits over
