Bush has been heavily criticised in Europe for his rejection of the Kyoto climate control treaty, claiming its mandatory pollution reductions were too harmful to the American economy.\u003cbr/\u003eEuropeans have also been cautious about Bush's domestic policies, including a recent energy proposal that stresses production over conservation.\u003cbr/\u003eAt the conference, Sweden's prime minister Goran Persson encouraged more than a hundred and twenty countries to sign a U-N  treaty banning 12 highly toxic chemicals at a conference he was hosting in Stockholm.\u003cbr/\u003eThe so-called \"dirty dozen \" chemicals are included in a U-N convention which aims to ban or minimise use of 12 persistent organic pollutants (POPs).\u003cbr/\u003eThey are
