They are not going to do anything in Iran until summer and by that time they are planning, they think that elections will take place (in Iraq) a democracy will emerge, the Sunnis will be somehow vanquished, the Iraqi army and police will be more built up so there is more security, that will help. And also they think Sharon in Israel, the Prime Minister, will begin the pullout from Gaza and that will make the Muslim world more happy thinking there is progress - so that will minimise the dissent when they hit Iran. Bush and his national security advisers had been conducting secret reconnaissance missions inside Iran at least since last summer for the purpose of gathering intelligence and targeting information.\u003cbr/\u003eHersh said the investigations were designed to uncover information about what the Bush administration believes is Iran's \"unrevealed and still hidden nuclear weapons programme.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIran repeatedly has denied any work on secret nuclear weapons programmes, saying its nuclear activities are for peaceful energy purposes only.\u003cbr/\u003eIn this week's edition of The New Yorker magazine, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist wrote that he had repeatedly been told by intelligence and military officials, on condition of anonymity that, \"the next strategic target was Iran\".\u003cbr/\u003eAnd although the timing of any offensive attack against Iran is dependant on the situation in neighbouring Iraq, Hersh said in an interview with APTN, that he had been told it could happen as early as this summer.\u003cbr/\u003eHersh, who broke the story about the Abu Ghraib prisoner torture scandal, said he believed his sources wanted the story to become public because of their frustration over the direction of U-S policy in the Middle East.\u003cbr/\u003eHersh says that he believes the President is continuing the policies he outlined in his 2002 State of the Union address where he accused Iran of being part of an 'axis of evil' along with North Korea and prewar Iraq.\u003cbr/\u003eThe claims made in Hersh's report have been denied by both the White House and U-S Department of Defence.  \u003cbr/\u003eA written statement from the Department of Defence said the report was 'riddled with
