And the final day of the 3 day extravaganza was all about designer Nomi Ansari. \u003cbr/\u003e\"My collection is called 'Gravity'. There is no particular fabric which I have used because I have used zillions, sort of, textures, different fabrics along with some leatherite rexine, some leather trimmings, quilting; different techniques I have used. It was very structural. It was a bit futuristic; it was very sci-fi meets contemporary fashion,\" Ansari said.\u003cbr/\u003eThe internationally acclaimed designer had his audience on their feet at the end of his retro, futuristic collection. \u003cbr/\u003eHe experimented with cuts and silhouettes, showcasing his ingenuity by seamlessly fusing disparate ideas.\u003cbr/\u003eDesigner Ali Xeeshan went even further, taking the traditional Oriental attire of monks and injecting his own blend of fiery passion. \u003cbr/\u003e\"The collection I just showed is called 'Jalaal'. Jalaal means passion. Very punchy, very happening, hip collection. The fabrics were really, really soft. The silhouette was relaxed and organic. And then it had a very spiritual feel to it since my inspiration was Far East - the Buddhas. As you can see, I am trying to be one,\" Xeeshan explained. \u003cbr/\u003eHe complemented the outfits with ostentatious headgear and accessories, creating a visual spectacle.\u003cbr/\u003eAdding new zest to ethnic chic was the label Kayseria. Their garments showcased the traditional style, patterns, and craftsmanship of Indian Rajasthan and rural Sindh.\u003cbr/\u003eAll of the elements were meticulously highlighted, with close attention to detail, creating and end product desirable to anyone anywhere across the globe. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the process Kayseria proved the willingness of local designers and brands to take ownership of their indigenous culture and heritage, and exhibited their desire to take it to new heights.\u003cbr/\u003eDesigner Mahim Hussain also found inspiration from the local culture. Her accessories were embellished with digitally printed English translations of the poetry of Parveen Shakir, one of the biggest names in Urdu Literature. \u003cbr/\u003eOthers who showcased their collections included the textile house Gul Ahmed, which came out with a collection that dazzled with different colors and patterns. \u003cbr/\u003eWardha Saleem launched her luxury pr�t collection, titled 'Dasht-e-Gul', taking inspiration from exotic camel art. And Faraz Manan's collection harked back to Mughal times, finding inspiration in the culture of the bygone Nawabs.\u003cbr/\u003eFashion journalist Aamna Haider Isani had ample praise for the works of Kayseria and Ali Xeeshan. She also expressed her joy over the designers' abundant incorporation of the indigenous culture and its fusion with contemporary styles. But she saved her highest praise for Nomi Ansari. \u003cbr/\u003e\"He is a great creator,\" she said. \"He is very good with couture construction; and, you know, he had fun with his collection. Usually, he does very commercially safe collections because they are the ones that do best in business. But today he had so much fun with it.\"\u003cbr/\u003eDespite the success of the event and the hype surrounding the fashion industry, Isani tempered the euphoria by pointing out that the fashion industry still needs to become more accessible for the average consumer. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Fashion Week is like an inverted pyramid. They started from the tip and they have to work themselves up and broaden. Everything needs to increase now; the sale needs to increase; the number of designers that are good and qualified needs to increase. Everything needs to get bigger and better. It can't remain small and niche and young anymore. It has to translate into big numbers.
