So, it is definitely a growth market,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eThe main reason developers are able to sell more games is because more people have devices to play games on, according to Wolters.\u003cbr/\u003ePreviously you would need to spend hundreds of dollars on a console that could only play games - nowadays most mobile phones can download and play popular games.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The market for mobile games is absolutely booming, because you can play games on almost every cell phone (device) today, as they all support gaming technology. And you have a very big bandwidth accordingly, because almost everyone has a smartphone,\" Wolters says.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Nintendo 3DS continues to pull in gamers, impressed by its stereoscopic display.\u003cbr/\u003eThe 3DS embodies the new multimedia age of gaming on the go - with a device that can show 3D blockbuster movies or let you play gaming''s biggest titles, like old favourite Super Mario in his latest adventure.\u003cbr/\u003eBut Super Mario represents the old way of selling games - the premium priced blockbuster title.\u003cbr/\u003eIncreasingly developers are giving their games away for free online and asking fans to pay a small amount for upgrades or an advert free version.\u003cbr/\u003eThis business model has become possible because of the rise of the smartphone.\u003cbr/\u003eGunnar Lott, head of Public Relations at Gameforge Productions GmbH explains: \"Generally one has access to the browser at home on the personal computer or on the cell phone and one has access from everywhere at every time. Users can play the game by logging on to their Internet browser.\u003cbr/\u003eBased on the Star Trek Deep Space Nine universe the involving title pits the player in an inter-stellar war between the Federation and the Klingons.\u003cbr/\u003eOnce you''ve got enough gamers hooked to your title it is then possible to ask for a small fee; even if the majority continue to play for free.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Only a section of our gamers pay to play our games.
