Bremer and entourage touring Babylon.\u003cbr/\u003eThe man put in  charge of the reconstruction of Iraq, Ambassador Paul Bremer, was taken to the site of the recently discovered mass grave south of Baghdad. \u003cbr/\u003eHe was shown around the are which is next to the farming community of Mahawil, about 90 km (55 miles) south of Baghdad. \u003cbr/\u003eBremer saw some the remains that have been exhumed from the site. Hundreds have already been taken away by relatives for burial.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile there Bremer talked to relatives trying to identify missing family members among piles of bones.\u003cbr/\u003eThere are estimates that as many as 15-thousand bodies may be there.\u003cbr/\u003eIt is thought they are the remains of Shiites killed following the anti-Saddam uprising in 1991.\u003cbr/\u003eLater he visited the site of the ancient city of Babylon, which Saddam had begun to restore. \u003cbr/\u003eBremer said the site was evidence of the brutality of the Saddam regime and showed that the coalition had been right to overthrow him.\u003cbr/\u003eThe city of Babylon represents Mesopotamia's monumental past. \u003cbr/\u003eHammurabi wrote the world's first legal code at Babylon almost four thousand years ago, the city's Hanging Gardens were one of the wonders of the ancient world and Alexander the Great conquered it as he stormed across Asia. \u003cbr/\u003eAs part of the restoration project,
