The judge said he cut the original sentence in half because of Gordon's guilty plea. After the verdict, Gordon commented -- this is just the system in Thailand.\u003cbr/\u003eUS Consul General Elizabeth Pratt was critical even if the sentence was relatively light compared to other recent cases...\u003cbr/\u003eThailand's frail king marked his 84th birthday on Monday to cheers and celebrations from his supporters.\u003cbr/\u003eThe lese majeste laws protecting him and his family from defamation are the harshest in the world.
