Kennedy, aimed at postponing his departure.\u003cbr/\u003eWith six year old Elian Gonzalez set to return to his native Cuba, President Clinton defended the actions of the U-S officials that made that possible.\u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English) \u003cbr/\u003e\"Well, if he and his father decided they wanted to stay here it would be fine with me. But I think that the most important thing is that his father was judged by people who made an honest effort to determine that he was a good father, a loving father, committed to the son's welfare.
