Pervez Musharraf on Friday praised Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon as \"courageous\" for ordering the dismantling of Jewish settlements and pullout from Gaza.\u003cbr/\u003eMusharraf said he was encouraged by Sharon's actions, but that he was not planning to meet with the Israeli leader on\u003cbr/\u003ethe sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly session in New York that both men will attend later this month.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think such actions need courage and boldness\", Musharraf said of the Gaza withdrawal, in an exclusive interview with APTN.   \"We hope that he shows (an) equal amount of courage finally in the creation of the Palestinian state.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMusharraf's comments follow a landmark meeting between the foreign ministers of Pakistan and Israel in Turkey last\u003cbr/\u003eweek, the first formal high-level contact between the Islamic and Jewish states, which fueled speculation of a possible summit in New York.\u003cbr/\u003eTerror groups around the world likely have an underground network of contacts, particularly in sharing finances, Musharraf  said\u003cbr/\u003ein the interview Friday.\u003cbr/\u003eHe also said there was no fresh information on the whereabouts of  Osama bin Laden, but said the al-Qaida leader likely is still hiding out on either side of Pakistan's rugged border with Afghanistan and not in an urban area where he could be recognised and arrested.\u003cbr/\u003eMusharraf said al-Qaida capabilities have been crippled and that it does not provide a central command for other Islamic militant groups, but that the terror network and its leaders remain symbolic motivators.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I personally think, yes, there is an underworld of these organisations linked to each other,\" Musharraf said. \"Most dangerous is the financial underground. These linkages should be cut.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAl-Qaida once provided a variety of capabilities to extremists'  finances, logistics, training and the technology to build sophisticated bombs and booby traps, Musharraf said.\u003cbr/\u003eStill, he said al-Qaida's leaders have clout of a different kind.\u003cbr/\u003e\"They have become symbols, a phenomenon,\" Musharraf said. \"The militants carry their photographs. They idolise them. They're the motivating factor for them.\"\u003cbr/\u003eOn the subject of Kashmir, Musharraf  said Pakistan and India are both optimistic about resolving their bitter dispute over the region, adding he had established a good personal rapport with the Indian Prime minister. \u003cbr/\u003eBoth leaders are to meet on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly session in New York later this month.\u003cbr/\u003eMusharraf praised former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto's main opposition Pakistan People's Party,in the interview, but said she could not become premier again.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Benazir (Bhutto) has had two tenures.....According to the constitution of Pakistan at the moment, she is not eligible to become prime minister
