Wide of Sunder Raman carrying Pradeepa up the stairs to their home\u003cbr/\u003eIndia's film industry, Bollywood, is known for its epic love stories, but few movies could match the devotion of Sunder and Pradeepa.\u003cbr/\u003ePradeepa suffers from muscular dystrophy and her condition is continually deteriorating.\u003cbr/\u003eSunder has adapted every aspect of his life to be her primary carer.\u003cbr/\u003eAt first glimpse, it seems like an average middle-class Indian family but Sunder Raman's is a unique story of love conquering all. \u003cbr/\u003ePradeepa, his teenage love, is suffering from pseudohypertrophic muscular dystrophy. \u003cbr/\u003eThe disease leads to weakness of the muscles in the legs and pelvis which eventually spreads to the arms, neck and other areas.\u003cbr/\u003eWith the illness, mobility becomes affected and paralysis can set in.\u003cbr/\u003eIn Pradeepa's case, the disease was detected when she was 12 years old. Today she has no movement in her lower body. \u003cbr/\u003eBut despite knowing her condition, Sunder Raman insisted on marrying her. \u003cbr/\u003eSunder Raman first saw Pradeepa at a cousin's wedding and fell in love with her.\u003cbr/\u003eBut then he moved to Muscat for work. \u003cbr/\u003eUpon his return, when he realised that Pradeepa was still unmarried, he approached her parents for her hand in marriage.\u003cbr/\u003eAs Pradeepa's mobility got restricted and then ended altogether, Sunder Raman refused to let her withdraw into a shell. \u003cbr/\u003eHe carries her everywhere- to work, on social visits, on shopping trips, etc.\u003cbr/\u003eWith a devoted husband by her side, Pradeepa is a happy woman but she says that she regrets not being able to physically do anything for her husband and that he does not allow any self pity, drawing her out even for Diwali. \u003cbr/\u003eIn fact, Pradeepa says, even her daughter Anjana wants her physical presence more than anything.    \u003cbr/\u003ePradeepa firmly believes that God created Sunder Raman only for her sake. \u003cbr/\u003eHusband Sunder says that he likes nothing more than to take her places, even if she is too shy to be seen in public with her disability.\u003cbr/\u003eFerrying Pradeepa to and from her office every day leaves little time for Sunder to devote to his own job. \u003cbr/\u003eThere is no treatment for Pradeepa's condition, only physiotherapy to help prolong the mobility.\u003cbr/\u003eBut that hasn't deterred Sunder Raman from keeping his family together - out of love and
