It used to be, all engaged couples had to worry about was the rings, the catering and a dress, but now they're also having to factor in their social media...\u003c/span\u003e\n\u003cspan class='full-description hide'\u003eThe checklist for the twenty-first century wedding just got a little bit longer.  \u003cbr/\u003eIt used to be, all engaged couples had to worry about was the rings, the catering and a dress, but now they're also having to factor in their social media coverage.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd couples today are sparring no expense, whether it's live-streaming the big day or setting up social media hashtags for their wedding guests to use. \u003cbr/\u003eNow, one hotel in New York is even offering couples their own social media concierge.\u003cbr/\u003eFor $3,000 USD, the W Hotel offers to create and manage a couple's Facebook page, post photos to Instagram and send out up-to-date tweets. \u003cbr/\u003e\"We can assist the couple with launching their wedding site, launching new social media channels whether they want to set up a Facebook page, maybe an Instagram account, Twitter, whatever's important to the couple,\" says Alyssa Kiefer, a social media concierge for W Hotels, \u003cbr/\u003e\"And then we're there to really help them craft and curate the content that goes on those channels. So that they're really sharing their wedding in a way that best reflects their personalities and how they want it to be seen.\"\u003cbr/\u003eSarah Winiarz and Kerwin Guevarra are planning their wedding for October 2014.\u003cbr/\u003eThey feel a social media concierge is the perfect way to involve family and friends every step of the way, especially if they live far away.\u003cbr/\u003e\"In my side, there's a lot of people in the Philippines and domestic areas that we really wish could be part of every instant of what we do, with the process going from pre-wedding, to wedding and after wedding,\" says Guevarra.\u003cbr/\u003e\"So it just happened that we actually were looking for something like that where we can engage everyone at every moment of time.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIt makes sense that couples would want to control the social media element of their wedding along with everything else, says Kiefer.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We're living in a digital age and social media people are sharing big moments small moments, everyday moments,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003e\"And so, your wedding day is arguably one of those most important moments of your life, and so you want to make sure that it's crafted and curated in a way that you're going to be proud of and that you want to share with people. So, W is there to take that responsibility off the hands of the couple. And let them enjoy the moment and we'll do the work for you.''\u003cbr/\u003eFor bride-to-be Winiarz, it's not about flooding Twitter news feeds with pictures, more sharing what's important with their family and friends.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It's an organised method for us to communicate this type of process and we also don't want to inundate everybody with photos and videos so this is going to take really the best of each moment and allow our family and friends to see it,\" she says.\u003cbr/\u003eWhile some might say it's a step too far for the social media revolution, social psychologist Guy Winch says it makes sense.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It is the next logical step because people are sitting at weddings and live-tweeting them anyway and they're putting pictures up on Facebook even before the ceremony is over,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003e\"So for those people who want to do that in a more organised, curated way, why not get someone to do it for you? To be in charge of it.
