Lau and Yip at backstage\u003cbr/\u003eThe winners of the 9th Annual Hua Ding Awards were all smiles backstage at the event on Wednesday April 10th, in Hong Kong.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe awards honors the best in China's entertainment industry with categories  like Best Actor/Actress, Best Director, Best Television Host, Most Popular Actor/Actress, and Best New Actor/Actress.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe winners of some categories are selected by a panel of industry experts, while others are voted by the viewers.  \u003cbr/\u003eIn its 9th year, the Hua Ding Awards has become a bench mark for what, and who's, hot in the Chinese entertainment industry.  \u003cbr/\u003eA total of 21 awards were handed out on the night, including Actor and Actress who are \"Most Well Liked by the Media.\"  The winners were Hong Kong's Angela Baby and Chinese comedic actor Wang Bao Qiang. \u003cbr/\u003eAngela Baby said that it's great winning the award for the second year in a row, however, in the future, she hopes to receive awards that recognize her skills in acting.  \u003cbr/\u003eWang starred in the Best-selling Chinese film of 2012, \"Lost in Thailand\".  \u003cbr/\u003eHis co-star and director from the film, Xu Zheng, won the award for Best New Director.\u003cbr/\u003eWang has been working non-stop since the release of \"Lost in Thailand.\"  He has been spending a lot of time in Hong Kong, shooting Kung Fu star Donnie Yen's new film, \"The Iceman Cometh.\"\u003cbr/\u003eFor Wang, it's been a great learning experience so far.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"Shooting is going very well.  I'm also having a lot of fun.  I've learned so much from working with Donnie (Yen).  There are a lot of martial arts scenes.  I have a new understanding of action films,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eAction star Jackie Chan has received a lot of awards during his 50 year career.  However, a \"Best Director Award\" is rare on his shelves of trophies at home.  \u003cbr/\u003eChan took home the \"Best Director Award\" for his 100th film, \"Chinese Zodiac.\"  \u003cbr/\u003eBackstage, Chan was all smiles because this award doesn't come easy, \"I've received a lot of awards for action choreography. It is reported that Fan's scenes have been edited out in the international release of the film, and she will only be seen in the Chinese release.\u003cbr/\u003eFan said that as long as she was having fun shooting, even if it was a small cameo, it doesn't bother her:\u003cbr/\u003e\"I don't think too much about it. Tse said that he was very happy about his win and wanted to thank the cast and crew of the winning film \"The Bullet Vanishes.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHong Kong veteran actress Deanie Yip received an \"Annual Achievement Award\" for her performance in \"A Simple Life.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIt was especially meaningful to her, because she received the award on stage from good friend, and co-star Andy Lau.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe pair has had a great run for their collaborations, and when asked if there are projects in the works, Lau said, perhaps a comedy film will do.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I would love to do a comedy with her.  I really really do.
