Nations has called a meeting of four Afghan factions in Bonn Germany which starts on Tuesday to map out a plan to install a broad-based, multi ethnic interim government in Afghanistan.\u003cbr/\u003eRepresentatives of the northern alliance, Zahir Shah, the so-called Cyprus group of distinguished Afghan exiles and the Assembly for Peace and National Unity of Afghanistan - mostly based in Pakistan's northwestern city of Peshawar, have been invited to the meeting.\u003cbr/\u003eEleven delegates left for Bonn from the Pakistani capital of Islamabad on Sunday.\u003cbr/\u003eThree of them are the representatives of the Cyprus group, four are from Peshawar and four Afghans are going there as observers.\u003cbr/\u003eThe meeting will go on for at least 10 to 14 days according to UN officials.\u003cbr/\u003eThe United Nations hopes that the delegates will be able to decide a road map for peace and the next step toward the interim setup.\u003cbr/\u003eSeveral Afghan factions, which are equally hostile to one another, now control parts of Afghan territory once ruled by the Taliban.\u003cbr/\u003eThere are fears that Afghanistan could plunge into another round of civil war if an interim broad-based government is not installed soon.\u003cbr/\u003eMeanwhile Attock, 80 km (50 miles) south east of Peshawar, one of the strongest tribal groups of eastern Afghanistan called for any government to include the Pashtun community. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Ahmedzai people belong to the same tribe as the former Afghan president Dr. Najibullah Khan. \u003cbr/\u003eThe ex-president resigned in 1992 but was executed by the Taliban when Kabul was captured in 1996. \u003cbr/\u003eThe head of the tribe, Haji Anayat Khan Munjai, has close relations with the Pakistan government and he invited the tribal chiefs to come up with a formula for power sharing in Kabul. \u003cbr/\u003eHe hopes to present this formula to the Northern Alliance forces currently dominating the political landscape of Afghanistan.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Ahmedzai tribe represents some 2 million people in Afghanistan.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd in Quetta more than 70 Afghan tribal elders asked the Taliban to surrender their southern stronghold of Kandahar, saying that the Islamic militia must give up the city to avert bloodshed.\u003cbr/\u003eThe appeal was issued following a meeting of tribal elders in this southwestern Pakistani city. \u003cbr/\u003eAfter the meeting, Izatullah Wasafi, an influential Pashstun tribal leader, told reporters any attempt by the Taliban to fight at this stage would be \"madness.\"\u003cbr/\u003eWasafi said a delegation of tribal elders would leave soon for Kandahar in an attempt to persuade the Taliban to relinquish
