'I've got to sleep Dr Conrad, I have these rehearsals to perform,\" Murray recounted on the recording.\u003cbr/\u003eJackson threatened to cancel that day's rehearsal, so Murray gave him some more lorazepam.\u003cbr/\u003eMurray told detectives he relented to Jackson's demand for his \"milk\" - a nickname the doctor said the singer used for propofol, which is a milky-white liquid.\u003cbr/\u003eDetective Scott Smith was confused by the reference at first, asking whether Jackson wanted hot or cold milk. \u003cbr/\u003eMurray then explained it was an anaesthetic.\u003cbr/\u003eOver the course of the interview, Murray told police that other doctors had given Jackson the anaesthetic before.\u003cbr/\u003eDefence attorney Ed Chernoff told the detectives that Jackson was familiar with how the drug was administered through an IV and certain dosages.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I took all precautions that were available to me, since I started seeing him I made sure that there was oxygen by the bedside, that he was placed on oxygen every night,\" Murray told the detectives \u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors contend that Murray was reckless by giving Jackson propofol outside a hospital setting and without the proper monitoring equipment.\u003cbr/\u003eMurray said Jackson told him before he agreed to be his personal physician that he might need help. \u003cbr/\u003eThe physician said Jackson told him that he expected to sleep for 15 to 18 hours at a time.\u003cbr/\u003eAuthorities claim Murray gave Jackson a lethal dose of propofol and other sedatives while trying to help the singer. \u003cbr/\u003eDefence attorneys say Jackson gave himself the lethal dose after Murray left the room.\u003cbr/\u003eMurray has pleaded not guilty to involuntary manslaughter. \u003cbr/\u003eIf convicted, he faces up to four years behind bars and the loss of his medical license. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the recorded interview, Murray recounted how the singer sought him out in early 2009 to help him prepare for his upcoming series of comeback shows. \u003cbr/\u003eTestimony showed that Jackson had agreed to pay Murray 150-thousand US dollars a month.\u003cbr/\u003eIn his testimony preceding the tape, Smith said, the case had not been classified as a homicide before Murray talked and was being treated as a death investigation, possibly from natural causes.\u003cbr/\u003eMore than seven months after Murray's interview with detectives, he was charged with involuntary homicide.\u003cbr/\u003eLos Angeles, 7 Oct 2011\u003cbr/\u003e1.
