Car driving away\u003cbr/\u003eThe Cape High Court ruled on Wednesday that Mark Thatcher, suspected of financing a coup plot in Equatorial Guinea, will have to answer questions from that country's authorities.\u003cbr/\u003eJudge Dion Van Zyl said the state had not infringed on the right of Thatcher, the son of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, to a fair trial or his right to silence to avoid self-incrimination.\u003cbr/\u003eProsecutors in Equatorial Guinea said last week they had charged Thatcher in connection with the alleged coup plot and would seek his extradition to that country.\u003cbr/\u003eAttorney General Jose Olo Obono said Thatcher was accused of helping to finance the coup attempt. Thatcher was added to a list of 19 other defendants on trial in Equatorial Guinea.\u003cbr/\u003eVan Zyl dismissed the application with costs saying there was nothing \"irrational or unconstitutional\" in the way the Justice Ministry approved the subpoena.\u003cbr/\u003eImmediately after the ruling, Thatcher's lawyer, Alan Bruce-Brand said it was too soon to say what the next step would be. Earlier, he told The Associated Press that were his client's court bid fail, he would most likely answer the questions from Equatorial Guinea authorities on Friday.\u003cbr/\u003eOutside court Thatcher was brief, saying the ruling was a long one.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The court has reaffirmed my right to silence,\" he said, adding that he would be consulting with his legal team and studying the
