capital Port-au-Prince.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Aviation Camp\" is on the site of a former military airport, and is now home to thousands of people live in tents among old helicopters and small planes. \u003cbr/\u003eEvery morning, 27-year-old Listen Mimose wakes up early to fetch water and give her children a bath before school. \u003cbr/\u003eWhen they arrived at the camp, Mimose and her family built a small, \"temporary\" house - a one-room shack covered in plastics packed tightly between other similar shelters.\u003cbr/\u003eShe's been sharing it with her husband and their four children for the past six months. \u003cbr/\u003eMimose and her husband - who used to sell cosmetics and shoes for a living - don't have work anymore and they have to ask for money to feed their children and send them to school. \u003cbr/\u003eMimose complained about the way that government was managing the camps.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I'm not satisfied,\" she said. \"The government treat us like animals, for the government we are not humans, we are animals.\" \u003cbr/\u003eBut six months after the earthquake that killed her parents, Mimose said she had no expectations that things would get better.\u003cbr/\u003eJosil Jean Bainet is a construction worker living at the camp, and also unemployed. \u003cbr/\u003eThe 31-year-old lives in a tent with some relatives and said the sanitary conditions at \"Aviation Camp\" were getting worse by the day.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The situation is difficult, first of all because we don't have toilets; second, because the plastics (used in the tents) raise the heat so nobody can stay inside the tents during the day,\" he said.\u003cbr/\u003eHe predicted that soon there would be a wave of deaths caused by unhealthy conditions at the camp and the summer heat.\u003cbr/\u003eBainet said he often wonders where the international aid promised and sent to Haiti has gone. \u003cbr/\u003eBut Nigel Fisher, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator for Haiti and Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General, says that even the worst of the conditions at the camps are better than the situation before the quake, for most Haitians.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Before the earthquake the majority of the population had no access to clean water, to health care,\" he said. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Now, you have a million and a half people living in camps but they have been able to have access to regular water supplies and health care.\"\u003cbr/\u003eStill Fisher admits the task of improving conditions at the camps would take years.\u003cbr/\u003eMonday marks the 6-month anniversary of the magnitude-7 earthquake which killed more than 200-thousand people and displaced 1.3 (m) million
