Then comes that magical moment they hear their song played on the radio for the very first time.\u003cbr/\u003eRock star Nikki Sixx is the co-founder, bassist, and primary songwriter of the iconic band Motley Cr�e. Sixx remember clearly the day he heard the band on the radio and tells the story about quickly dialing his rock buddies so they can hear it as well. \u003cbr/\u003e\"I do remember. It was a song called 'Stick to Your Guns,'\" said Sixx. \"We just had enough money to record two songs and that's back when you used to have a single, a vinyl single and they played it on the show in kind of a local lakes type show here in Los Angeles and I remember hearing it and I was like, I made it. That's it.\"\u003cbr/\u003eTeen pop star Austin Mahone first heard himself on the radio a couple years ago with the single that propelled him into yet another YouTube sensation.\u003cbr/\u003e\"I was in Chicago leaving B96 Big Summer Bash and I got in the car and they were playing my song, 'Say Something' on the radio which was pretty cool so I was freaking out in the car. I couldn't believe it, it was weird hearing myself on the radio,\" said the 18-year old singer.\u003cbr/\u003eR 'n B singer Mya grew up in the suburbs of Washington D.C. She began performing at home wearing her mother's high heeled boots, dancing to the beats of Michael Jackson. This soon escaladed to dance lessons and then her first break-out song in 1998 when she was only 19 years-old with \"It's All About Me.\"\u003cbr/\u003e\"...I was in DC. In my hometown when I heard it for the first time and I said, this is real,\" recalled Mya. \"I did not tell any of my friends because I didn't know if it was going to really happen so I shut my mouth and then when I heard it on the radio, yeah. That was an exciting moment for me.\" \u003cbr/\u003eRapper and producer Juicy J first got attention as part of a group called Three Six Mafia won an Academy Award for Best Original Song for \"It's Hard out Here for a Pimp.\" These days he continues to top the charts, featured in Katy Perry's single \"Dark Horse\" from her fourth album \"Prism.\" He recalled the very first time he made it to the radio in his hometown Memphis, Tennessee. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Oh that was years ago, I went crazy,\" said Juicy J. \"I lost my mind, I was calling my mom. Mom I am on the radio. So yeah. It was in Memphis, Tennessee. It was a station in Memphis called Magic 101, a station they don't have anymore but it was like an old-school station.
