Various of Elton John and David Furnish with little boy Lev\u003cbr/\u003eBritish singer Elton John, said on Saturday (12SEPT09) he wanted to adopt a 14-month-old boy from an orphanage in the east of Ukraine.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe singer made his announcement on a visit to Ukraine with his AIDS charity foundation. \u003cbr/\u003eIn a press conference he was asked whether he and his partner David Furnish, who had a 14-month boy called Lev on his knee, had thought of adopting.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"David and I have always talked about adoption,\" Elton John said. \"David always wanted to adopt a child and I always said no because I am 62 and I think because of the travelling I do and the life I have, maybe it wouldn't be the fair thing for the child.\"  \u003cbr/\u003e\"But after seeing Lev today, I would love to adopt him. I don't know how we do that, but he has stolen my heart, and he has stolen David's heart. And it would be wonderful if we could have a home. And I've changed my mind today,\" he added.  \u003cbr/\u003eUkraine has the fastest rising HIV rates in Europe.\u003cbr/\u003eElton John was visiting Makeevka to highlight the needs of HIV-positive children, and to change attitude of society towards children living with HIV/AIDS. \u003cbr/\u003eElena Franchuk, the founder of AtntiAIDS foundation explained why his visit was so important.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We hope that these children will not be turned away by society, we hope the people that adopt these children into their families will not become outcasts, but heroes,\" she said.\u003cbr/\u003eThis is Elton's second visit to Ukraine on Elena Franchuk's invitation, but the first in his capacity as Founder and Chairman of the Elton John AIDS Foundation. \u003cbr/\u003eHis previous visit was in 2007, when he gave a free concert on the main square in Kiev attended by tens of thousands people to raise awareness of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and AIDS.  \u003cbr/\u003eElton John's AIDS Foundation collaborates with the Ukrainian Anti-AIDS Foundation of Olena Franchuk, daughter of former President Leonid Kuchma.   \u003cbr/\u003eDuring his visit he
