Palestinian leader was important and he should be accorded whatever medical treatment necessary. \u003cbr/\u003ePalestinian refugees in Lebanon anxiously waited for news updates on Arafat, symbol of their struggle for a homeland and the only leader many of them have ever known.\u003cbr/\u003eResidents in Ein El Helweh refugee camp near the southern port city of Sidon said they spent the night alternating between flipping television channels and praying, going to sleep in the early morning hours only after hearing of a slight improvement in Arafat's health.\u003cbr/\u003eThe camp is the largest of 12 refugee camps in Lebanon, which together houses about 350,000 Palestinians. \u003cbr/\u003eIt is home to at least 65,000 Palestinian refugees and their descendants displaced by Israel's creation in 1948, many of whom have never known any leader other than Arafat.\u003cbr/\u003eAn air of despondency took over the camp on Thursday and fresh pictures of Arafat were pasted on the camp's
