Among the possibilities open is the revoking of their broadcast licenses.\u003cbr/\u003eThe former directors of the two channels allegedly received money from now-jailed spy chief Vladimiro Montesinos to give favorable coverage to Fujimori, who fled to exile in Japan.\u003cbr/\u003ePossible sanctions laid out in Peru's criminal code and telecommunications law. Among them are the disqualification of shareholders, the suspension of licenses and fines.\u003cbr/\u003eOn Wednesday, hundreds of employees of the two channels took to the streets of Lima, protesting against the threatened sanctions.\u003cbr/\u003eThe former owners of the widely watched Panamericana Television and America Television, both face legal difficulties over their alleged involvement with Montesinos.\u003cbr/\u003eErnesto Schutz of Panamericana is being held in Argentina and could face extradition. \u003cbr/\u003eHe fled Peru after a videotape was released that supposedly showed him accepting cash from Montesinos.\u003cbr/\u003eJose Enrique Crousillat and his son, Jose Francisco Crousillat, former bosses of America Television's holding company, have also fled the country.\u003cbr/\u003eA similar videotape showed them also supposedly receiving funds from Montesinos. \u003cbr/\u003eFamily members now run the station.\u003cbr/\u003eState's attorney Jose Ugaz, who is probing Montesinos' web of corruption for the government, told foreign correspondents that Peru's criminal code allows for judges to sanction businesses that were used to carry out criminal acts.\u003cbr/\u003eThe possible punishments include permanently closing the business or temporarily suspending its operations, Ugaz said.\u003cbr/\u003eThe government plans have sparked concern among Peruvian news organisations and opposition leaders, possibly because of bad memories from Fujimori's autocratic rule.\u003cbr/\u003e\"This must not be part of an authoritarian move to limit freedom of expression,\" said Lourdes Flores, former presidential candidate and leader of the opposition National Unity party.\u003cbr/\u003eA government spokesman has told the La Republica newspaper that the government wouldn't interfere in programming and that it would set up a mechanism to award the licenses to new owners as quickly as
