I want to go out there and do something that is very interesting to me and will represent a personal achievement.\u003cbr/\u003eSUPER CAPTION: Steve Fossett, adventurer\u003cbr/\u003eThey hope to break the current world record for a medium weight airplane which currently stands at 47 hours, 43 minutes and 26 seconds.\u003cbr/\u003eThey are hoping for good tail winds - anywhere from 40 to 150 mph, flying at between 45 and 47 thousand feet.\u003cbr/\u003eWith smooth skies, Fossett expects to shatter the record, returning to Los Angeles in under 40 hours. \u003cbr/\u003eFossett and his team will be joined by an official time keeper from the National Aeronautic Association. \u003cbr/\u003eSOUNDBITE: (English)\u003cbr/\u003e\"The present record is about 787 km per hour around the world. We need to beat that by one percent, which means they need to give us an average speed of about 797 ...just on the low side of 800 km per hour  average speed around the world.
