And while that often meant a shopping spree for new school uniforms, casual wear and accessories, retailers say the trend now is to shop little and often throughout the year. \u003cbr/\u003eStephanie Horbaczewski is the CEO and President of fashion of YouTube style and beauty network, StyleHaul.\u003cbr/\u003e\"They are not doing that big back to school shop that I did when I was that age. I would go and buy all my pieces and that would be my spend and that would be it,\" she says. \u003cbr/\u003e\"Now they are consuming every day. Every week they want that new piece and the stores are able to keep up with it. I came from retail and we shipped maybe twice a month, maybe, and now I see new pieces arriving in the stores almost bi-weekly, really! It's just totally different, so you are never going to go for that same buying pattern when the retailers themselves are changing how they are actually stocking their own stores.\"\u003cbr/\u003eHorbaczewski says teenagers are able to consume more today because they can get cutting edge styling at the right price. \u003cbr/\u003eShe says cheap clothing stores make it easy for teens to shop -  a lot. And it's not just clothing - accessories are becoming the main focus of teen demand when it comes to style.  \u003cbr/\u003e\"It's actually the small personalised accessories that really pop out of somebody's outfit. It can be a crystal iPhone case. It can be one really statement piece like a fur trimmed sweater. We are finding that they want the 'of-the-moment' thing that they are seeing on their friends and they want them regularly,\" she says. \u003cbr/\u003e\"The watches that are made by your phone companies, your iPhone cases that are actually part of your accessories, you see all the retailers now starting to to stock those and making them part of their ecosystem within retailers. I saw something from Nasty Gal where everyone seems to want some new iPhone case and I thought ok so now this is actually becoming part of your fashion and part of your style,\" she adds.\u003cbr/\u003eToday teenage sales make up 15 per cent of all apparel sales according to the market research company, The NPD Group. \u003cbr/\u003eClothing and accessories are always in high demand, but according to Horbaczewski, no teen look is complete without the right technology to go with it.  \u003cbr/\u003eShe says texting on an old smartphone is now considered worse then wearing last season's clothing among some teenagers. \u003cbr/\u003eToday technology brands don't just sit on labels behind products -  they are the stars of the show.\u003cbr/\u003eTanner Marchisello, spokesperson for Best Buy says teenagers are constantly on the look out for the latest app or gadget.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It's very important for the latest trends to come in.
