First, we want to industrialise it, but since we don't have the resources we are looking for other states' agencies that can partner with the Bolivian state. Wide of Morales laughing during interview\u003cbr/\u003eBolivian President Evo Morales said on Tuesday that he \"fears\" drug trafficking and his country is attempting to fight it but that it is an issue they cannot tackle alone.\u003cbr/\u003eMorales accused the United States of using the problem of drug trafficking to further its political agenda in the region, without taking an active role, as the world's leader in drug consumption, in fighting the issue.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We fear it, I fear drug trafficking. We are fighting it,\" he said during an interview in New York, where he is participating in the United Nations General Assembly.\u003cbr/\u003e\"But, it isn't only the responsibility of the Bolivian government and the Bolivian people, but it is also the responsibility of the countries where the drugs are consumed, where cocaine is consumed,\" he added.\u003cbr/\u003eMorales said his country was seeking regional support to fight drug trafficking, an issue which has become of prime importance across Latin America as drug related violence in Mexico has spilled into the rest of the region.\u003cbr/\u003e\"The same way that the United States, with all the money it has, has not been able to lower demand or fight synthetic drugs alone. How could a small country like Bolivia face it alone?,\" Morales said.\u003cbr/\u003eMorales' relationship with the United States has been tense since Bolivia expelled the US ambassador from La Paz in 2008 over allegations of allying with the opposition to overthrow his government.\u003cbr/\u003eAt that time, Morales also expelled the United States anti-drug agency, DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration).\u003cbr/\u003eDuring Tuesday's interview, Morales said his country was better off without the DEA, and said the region could not depend on \"the north\" to act against drug trafficking.\u003cbr/\u003eMorales also addressed economic matters, pointing out that several international companies have approached his government with interest in exploring Bolivia's lithium reserves.\u003cbr/\u003eWithout giving any specific details, Morales said the latest proposal for the industrialisation of Bolivian lithium had come from the Spanish government.\u003cbr/\u003eHe said, however, that his government would chose \"partners\" and not bosses, when it comes to the development of the nation's lithium.\u003cbr/\u003eLastly, Morales spoke about his colleague and friend,
