He is for the people, for our country, for the indigenous people. What is this (road construction) going to accomplish?\" she said. \u003cbr/\u003eThree years ago, voters overwhelmingly approved a new constitution that gave the nation's 36 ethnicities unprecedented autonomy and made Bolivia a \"plurinational\" republic.\u003cbr/\u003eWednesday's two marches show the growing polarisation of the country since Morales, who is of Aymara origin, ratified the document.\u003cbr/\u003eMorales distanced himself in his second term from the Indigenous Confederation of Peoples of Eastern Bolivia, which brings together people of the Amazon and south (Guarani) and whose leaders say the ruling party favours the Andean people, the majority whom remain loyal to the president.\u003cbr/\u003eThe government's plan to build a road through the nature reserve has deepened the divide between Morales and the confederation. \u003cbr/\u003e1.
