Paul Getty Museum curator Marion True.\u003cbr/\u003eState lawyers will withdraw the civil lawsuit when the yearlong trial resumes on Wednesday following a summer break. \u003cbr/\u003eBut officials said the move will not stop criminal proceedings against True, who is accused of knowingly acquiring ancient treasures that Italy maintains were stolen or dug up illegally and smuggled out of the country. \u003cbr/\u003eStatues, amphorae and ancient archaeological findings were taken from Italy at a time when national and international laws didn't protect the cultural heritage from being looted or bought and sold by art dealers. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the aftermath of World War II, many important Roman and Etruscan artifacts were looted and sold abroad.\u003cbr/\u003eItalian Minister of Culture, Francesco Rutelli, started a new deal of cultural diplomacy by seeking agreements, in order to bring the national treasures back to Italy.\u003cbr/\u003e\"Since now transparency will lead all international regulation and the archaeological artifacts market.
