Zoom-out from gun to the ceremony - people clap \u003cbr/\u003eTen months after the beginning of the disarmament campaign in Brazil, a total of 350 thousand guns have been delivered to the Federal Police Precincts and civilian organisations in the country. \u003cbr/\u003eOn Saturday 215  Protestant and Pentecostal Churches throughout Brazil  joined the campaign that gives money to civilians who give up their guns to be destroyed. \u003cbr/\u003ePastor Andre Mello led the ceremony that opened the  campaign in the Protestant and Pentecostal Churches in Rio de Janeiro, holding a gun in his hand. \u003cbr/\u003eWhen the campaign started, in August last year, only the Federal Police Precincts accepted guns. \u003cbr/\u003eAfter a  few months, Catholic Churches and NGOs  joined the campaign, that aims to collect 400 thousand guns by the end of june.\u003cbr/\u003eAccording to recent research by  UNESCO, Brazil has the second highest number of death from fire arms in the world, second only to Venezuela. \u003cbr/\u003eThe research compares data from 57 nations. \u003cbr/\u003eIn Brazil, according to the research, 100 people die every day victim of guns. \u003cbr/\u003eFifty-eight year old Euristela Azevedo knows the importance of the disarmament campaign. \u003cbr/\u003eOn October, 10th, 1998, her 24 year old son, the Army Sergeant William Keller Azevedo, and 3 friends, were killed by Military Police after a fight at a party on the outskirts of Rio. Her son died with a total of 26 shots. The 6 Military Policemen accused of the massacre are still free.
