East. \u003cbr/\u003eA new brand of Olive Oil made by Israelis, Palestinians and Druze is helping to overcome religious and cultural barriers both in the workplace and in everyday life. \u003cbr/\u003eFor women across the developed world, weight, appearance and dress size are universal concerns. \u003cbr/\u003eSo when director Yael Luttwak decided to bring together a group of Jewish and Arab women in Jerusalem, a weight loss group was the perfect topic. \u003cbr/\u003eLuttwak's film 'A Slim Peace' premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2007.  \u003cbr/\u003eShe says the film inspired the UK-based Charities Advisory Trust asked her to help to set up permanent cross community weight loss groups. \u003cbr/\u003eEach week a group of seven Palestinian and seven Jewish women meet to swap diets tips and share experiences of their quest to lose weight. \u003cbr/\u003eAdvice is on hand from Palestinian and Jewish nutritionists. \u003cbr/\u003eThe gatherings are financially sponsored by the revenues of Peace Oil, an olive oil whose profits are used to promote inter-community cooperation in Israel and the Palestinian territories.  \u003cbr/\u003eLuttwak says within a few hours people's barriers come down and they begin to find common interests.\u003cbr/\u003eInam Smoom, a Palestinian member of the weight loss group, says she has to go through two police checkpoints to attend classes.\u003cbr/\u003eNonetheless, Smoom says she forgets who is Jewish and who is Arab when the group meets.\u003cbr/\u003eJudy Farhi, a Jewish member of the group, says having contact with Palestinian women at the classes makes her happy because no politics are involved.\u003cbr/\u003ePart of the success of the group is due to the financial backing of the Peace Oil initiative. \u003cbr/\u003eLocated two hundred kilometres (124 miles) from Jerusalem, in the North of Israel, Peace Oil is produced in the rolling hills of lower Galilee.  \u003cbr/\u003eThe oil is a joint effort among four ethnic groups living in Israel.\u003cbr/\u003eThe trees and land near Yokneam, on the Carmel Mountain, are owned by a Jewish family who employs Arab, Bedouin and Druze workers.\u003cbr/\u003eKarem Kaabyia, an Arabic Bedouin worker, says he is friends with his Jewish and Druze colleagues.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Druze are a Middle Eastern minority group that is though to have originated in the 11th century, where they began as an Islamic reform movement.\u003cbr/\u003eMost Druze live in mountainous regions in Lebanon, Syria, Israel and Jordan.\u003cbr/\u003eWorkers pick olives and help maintain the orchard during the out-of-season months.\u003cbr/\u003eOnce they olives are harvested they are pressed in a Druze-owned mill house, based in a nearby village.\u003cbr/\u003eFinally the oil is bottled by a Jewish family.\u003cbr/\u003eMunir Chalabi, a local Druze worker, says as long as they can live in peace working together will easy.\u003cbr/\u003eGabi Gilon is the Israel director for Charities Advisory Trust.\u003cbr/\u003eHe brought the whole project together after being approached by Charities Advisory Trust in 2005. \u003cbr/\u003eGilon says the initiative provides employment to all, Palestinians, Bedouin, Druze and Israeli's.  \u003cbr/\u003eTwo years on, 22,000 bottles of olive oil have been sold, according to Gilon, with orders coming from England, France, other parts of Europe and the US.\u003cbr/\u003eOfra Strauss is married to the Israeli olive grower and bottler.\u003cbr/\u003eShe says the project is important because both Arab and Jews are earning a living working together.\u003cbr/\u003ePeace Oil comes in three varieties: extra virgin, organic and cooking oil, which is a blend of Israeli and Palestinian oil coming from the West Bank.  \u003cbr/\u003eA bottle of Peace Oil retails on their website from around �13 to �18 United Kingdom pounds (from $25 to $35 US Dollars).\u003cbr/\u003eThe initiative is sponsored by the profits of Peace Oil, an olive oil made in Northern Israel by a joint cooperation of Jews, Arabs, Bedouins and
