Saw and bow on table\u003cbr/\u003eThe musical saw could be making a comeback.\u003cbr/\u003eAt a recent get together in Tel Aviv a small group sawed away at well known melodies as a mostly appreciative audience listened to their cutting edge musical technique. \u003cbr/\u003eNatalia Paruz, who also calls herself 'Saw Lady', grew up in Israel and set her sights on a career as a ballet dancer until a traffic accident forced a change of plan.\u003cbr/\u003eFourteen years ago in Vienna she first heard a musical saw being played and was immediately captivated. She bought a saw and taught herself the technique; the left hand constantly adjusts the shape of the saw while the right hand moves the bow.\u003cbr/\u003eNatalia says for her the sound of a saw is very much like a chiming bell.  \u003cbr/\u003eRecently Natalia brought a group of saw players together on the same stage for an unrehearsed concert.\u003cbr/\u003eSaw playing is not a contemporary form of music but has been around since the 19th century and has a long history in American folk music.\u003cbr/\u003eAlthough it is possible to play just about any saw in the tool shed,  a specially made musical saw delivers a much stronger volume and a mellower tone.\u003cbr/\u003eFellow saw player Nadav says he thinks some songs were written for the saw.\u003cbr/\u003eSome of the music lovers in the audience enjoyed the show while others were not so sure.\u003cbr/\u003eNatalia Paruz  did not know how the concert would sound ahead of time.\u003cbr/\u003eNatalia's no stranger to integrating her saw with the classics as she has played with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra and at New York's Westchester Philharmonic Orchestra.\u003cbr/\u003eShe says her aim is not only to preserve this rare art form, but to also try and promote it.  \u003cbr/\u003eAnd many in the audience, like Tal Kravitz enjoyed the
