Wide of bank notes\u003cbr/\u003eThe Czech Republic is launching a new app to help you spot a fake bank note. \u003cbr/\u003eIt's designed to stamp out the rise in counterfeit notes. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Czech Republic Central Bank has developed a new app that is the closest thing to holding cash in your hand. \u003cbr/\u003eIt is intended to cutd own on counterfeit crime. \u003cbr/\u003eThe app called Czech Money uses smart phone and tablet technology combined with sophisticated programming to reproduce in amazing detail bank notes and the security features embedded in each bill to educate the public about what is and isn't a fake. \u003cbr/\u003eIt's free and downloadable from Google Play in versions that can run on Apple iOS or Android operating systems. \u003cbr/\u003e\"With the rapid spread of these innovative devices like smart phones and tablets. We wanted to do that for tablets. So that people who come to Czech Republic, tourists, can quickly find out how does a Czech bank note look like,\" says Czech Republic Central Bank Spokesman, Marek Petrus. \u003cbr/\u003eUsing accelerometers, the same technology which helps the GPS inside a mobile or tablet to judge speed and distance, the program can reproduce in stunning detail the holograms one would see if you held the note up and looked at it from  varying angles.\u003cbr/\u003e\"It is portable, that one big advantage, and it also contains the software on those mobile phones and tablets. It enables us to show realistically how doe these security features behave on a real bank notes,\" says Petrus. \u003cbr/\u003eCzech Money can also reproduce the iridescent ink, watermarks and even the markings that can only be seen under ultraviolet light.  \u003cbr/\u003eSince its release 11,000 users have downloaded the app while other central banks have requested details about the development of the programming. \u003cbr/\u003e\"In the Czech Republic, in general, counterfeiting is not a nightmare.
