(Nats up)\u003cbr/\u003eBut who are the people who come out in droves to challenge, debate, and sometimes taunt their local lawmakers at health forums around the country?\u003cbr/\u003eIt depends on who you ask:\u003cbr/\u003eMOS: \"I'm retired military.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMOS: \"I'm a senior citizen.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMOS: \"I'm a stay at home mom.\"\u003cbr/\u003eMany of those raising their voices at town halls have never been politically active. \u003cbr/\u003eTake John Bair, whose frustration with the government reached new heights earlier this year over government bailouts and massive spending bills.\u003cbr/\u003eHe found an outlet in the conservative anti-tax Tea Party movement... the same movement whose organizers are now bussing protestors to health care town halls.\u003cbr/\u003e{SOT: John Bair}\u003cbr/\u003e\"The American people aren't stupid... Common sense tells you we can't support this. The trillions and trillions of dollars.\"\u003cbr/\u003eIn some cases, the protests are nurtured by talk radio and conservative media. Pricilla Olsen said it was commentator Glenn Beck who inspired her and her friends to come out.\u003cbr/\u003e{SOT: Priscilla Olsen}\u003cbr/\u003e\"I watch Glenn Beck every day and he said, 'If there is ever a town hall meeting, go to it.' And I have a lot of respect for that man because he has love for his country, so I'll do what he asks.\"\u003cbr/\u003eThere are other elements of organized opposition, too, from the insurance industry lobby to groups like FreedomWorks and Americans for Prosperity.\u003cbr/\u003eBut many are quick to say that allegations of organization are overblown. \u003cbr/\u003eThey insist the healthcare debate has tapped into a real and palpable fear among Americans that their government is becoming too intrusive and controlling. \u003cbr/\u003e{SOT: Larry Moscow/Public Opinion analyst}\u003cbr/\u003e\"I think you're seeing a cumulative effect.
