This is now a tradition in the aquarium at Madrid Zoo. They don't see us as prey. We have to be careful, we have strict and rigorous safety procedures that we have to follow. We also practice what to do if someone is injured in the tank. Various children watching \u003cbr/\u003eDivers swam in a shark filled tank at Madrid Zoo on Tuesday to prepare the annual nativity scene for visitors.\u003cbr/\u003eThree conservationists from the aquarium dived into the million litre salt water tank, to set up the nativity scene with figures of Jesus, Mary and Joseph as well as the three kings, shepherds and a guiding star. \u003cbr/\u003eThe stunt is now in its tenth year and has become a tradition, according to the zoo's head of conservation, Javier Gonzalez Sanz said. \u003cbr/\u003eThe figures are metallic covered in special paint which does not affect the composition of the water.\u003cbr/\u003eOne diver had the special task of warding \"Bubu\" a 50 year old male turtle whose inquisitive nature kept the divers on their toes.\u003cbr/\u003eThe tanks biggest resident is a bull shark capable of detecting a drop of blood in 115 litres of water. \u003cbr/\u003eGonzalez Sanz said the divers were not exposed to any great risk since the sharks do not consider humans as prey.
