Close-up of water leaking out from almost complete dyke\u003cbr/\u003eWorkers rushed to repair a floodgate on the outskirts of the Thai capital on Wednesday, after it was broken by angry locals who have been living in knee-deep flood waters for more than a week.\u003cbr/\u003eAn earthen dyke around the floodgate was broken earlier in the week by people from the Klong Sam Wa district.\u003cbr/\u003eThey smashed the barrier with pick axes and hammers in the hope of releasing the floodwaters from their neighbourhood.\u003cbr/\u003eThe tensions at the floodgate in Bangkok's north-east illustrate the rising anger in some neighbourhoods that have been sacrificed to keep the capital's central business district and historic heart dry.\u003cbr/\u003eLocal factory worker Rattana Naamsonthi said she does not know what will help the floodwaters recede.\u003cbr/\u003e\"If you open the gate, the water is not going to recede.
