many parts of the country which were yet to be dealt with.\u003cbr/\u003eEarlier on Thursday, Iraqi fighters in northern Baghdad's Imam Mosque opened fire on US marines who were hunting for regime leaders, triggering a fierce battle.\u003cbr/\u003eBrigadier General Vincent Brooks, deputy operations director at US Central Command, confirmed that the fighting had ended.\u003cbr/\u003eAs to the whereabouts of the Iraqi leadership, Renuart said coalition forces were yet to locate Saddam Hussein and his immediate deputies.\u003cbr/\u003eRenuart also confirmed that a meeting of \"interested parties\" to discuss the establishment of an Iraqi interim authority would still go ahead, but could not give details.\u003cbr/\u003eOne of the key figures at such a meeting would be Ahmad Chalabi, leader of the Iraqi National Congress - an opposition group in exile. \u003cbr/\u003eChalabi, who is now in southern Iraq, is seen as a possible contender to lead the interim
