The Snow Mountain festival 2002 he pioneered to organize is the very first Chinese Woodstock-like music festival in August 17-18. The two-day event will be China's largest ever outdoor rock music festival. Famous domestic and overseas rock stars will perform on two stages set up on the grassland and several thousands of camps will be set up.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Beijing-born 40 year-old rocker, however, is yet to be a favour to the government. There has been no written edict against Cui Jian and no public ban, but he and his music is rarely seen and play on stated-run radio and television stations despite constant comparison made about his musical talent to Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen of China.\u003cbr/\u003eHis first song, \" Yi Wu Suo You\" (Nothing to my name) is played over speakers, on tape players and sung by many during the mass demonstrations of 1989 at Beijing Tiananmen Square.\u003cbr/\u003eIt's a familiar story in China, where Cui Jian is the famous invisible Chinese rock star that few in his own country have ever actually seen. Last year, he played 11 shows across Europe. That's about as many as he managed to play so far in China. And most of those appearances have been in small clubs, often unannounced.\u003cbr/\u003eIn China, rock concerts must be approved by the Ministry of Culture.
