house. \u003cbr/\u003eThe play, which also includes dance, deals with the life of Hannelore Kohl, the relationship between her and husband Helmut Kohl, his affairs with other women and her suicide in the summer of 2001, as well as the politcal history of his time in office.\u003cbr/\u003eJohann Kresnik was the Austrian choreographer on \"Hannelore Kohl\", a man known for his unconventional and radical productions, and the original idea and the libretto are by Uschi Otten. \u003cbr/\u003eKresnik has already staged various biographical plays about famous women - Sylvia Plath, Ulrike Meinhof, Rosa Luxembrg, Frida Kahlo and controversial German film maker Leni Riefenstahl.\u003cbr/\u003eHannelore Kohl's life was dominated by her life in the public spotlight and the political role of her husband.\u003cbr/\u003eKresnik focuses on this, as well as her childhood and youth (she was born in 1933). \u003cbr/\u003eThe parents of Hannelore Kohl were National Socialists (Nazis), and her father owned an arms factory. \u003cbr/\u003eShe belonged to a generation steeped in war and violence. \u003cbr/\u003eShe then married Helmut Kohl and accompanied his career, his victories and defeats. \u003cbr/\u003eThe public knew her as the perfect chancellor's wife, but Kresnik chooses to reveal another side of her, as well as portraying the private and political life of Kohl - in a  provoking and critical manner. \u003cbr/\u003eBut Kresnik, an active communist and ardent atheist who openly admits that he is \"not a friend of Helmut Kohl´s policy\", also stresses that it is not his primary intention to criticise Helmut Kohl. \u003cbr/\u003eKresnik told APTN that he never planned to be provocative, but that his choreographic ideas and radical and strong imagery  often had that effect, an effect hyped by the media. \u003cbr/\u003eIn Bonn the play has attracted controversy, with some demanding that the play be dropped before it has even been
