making more Pakistanis victims of the worst natural disaster in the nation's history.\u003cbr/\u003eThe United Nations, relying on Pakistani figures, says the number of people affected by flooding over the past two weeks is 13.8 (m) million - more than the combined total of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami, the 2005 Kashmir earthquake and the 2010 Haiti earthquake, although the death toll in each of those disasters was much higher than the 1,500 people killed in the floods.\u003cbr/\u003eThe intense deluge that began about two weeks ago has washed away roads, bridges and many communications lines, hampering rescue efforts staged by aid organisations and the government. \u003cbr/\u003eMany flood affected residents of Shado Village, 60 kilometres (37 miles) from Dera Ismail Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, have left their homes, living on the roadside with their remained belongings.\u003cbr/\u003eSome complained that the government has told them to evacuate without providing sufficient relief.\u003cbr/\u003eElsewhere, four children were badly injured as floods brought an unexploded bomb to their village.\u003cbr/\u003e\"the boys were playing outside their house, one of in the area.\u003cbr/\u003eAs swollen rivers have flown south and east, Sindh and Punjab provinces have also been affected. \u003cbr/\u003eIn the Sindh province city of Sukkur, flood victims could be seen living in a camp, set up by Pakistani government.\u003cbr/\u003eRescue work has been hampered by ongoing monsoon rains, which have washed away roads and bridges and made it impossible for helicopters to fly at certain times. \u003cbr/\u003eThe floods hit the country at a time when the government is already struggling with a faltering economy and a brutal war against Taliban militants that has killed thousands of people. \u003cbr/\u003eThe patchy government response has given room for Islamist groups, some allegedly linked to militant outfits, to step in and offer their own aid to
