There is the machete that belonged to the Gurkhas (Nepalese mountain division of the British Army) which is on display as it was taken from the Dos Hermanas Mountain in the Malvinas (Falklands). There is also a flag that was brought from the hospital in Puerto Argentino (Argentinean name for Stanley, the capital of the Falklands/Malvinas). As I said these are objects that have been brought from the moment events took place, although there are also objects that have been brought from more than twenty trips that groups from the commission of family members did to visit cemeteries and battlefields.\"\u003cbr/\u003e9. Argentine flag found at the Falklands\u003cbr/\u003eAn exhibition showcasing more than three hundred items of memorabilia relating to the Falklands/Malvinas War of 1982 opened in Argentina''s capital, Buenos Aires, on Friday.\u003cbr/\u003eThe objects were donated to the Julian Centeya cultural centre by former combatants and their relatives.\u003cbr/\u003eThe fragmented memories of the war have been gathered and dispayed in a 400 square metres exhibition space by curator, Julio Cardozo.\u003cbr/\u003ePrivate objects, artifacts, weaponry, and even life-sized cardboard cut-outs of Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher rub shoulders with plaques honouring the war dead.\u003cbr/\u003eThe exhibit is thought to be the largest of its kind to date.\u003cbr/\u003eCardoso explained that each object relates to an actual event that took place during the war, with many taken first hand from battle scenes by combatants.\u003cbr/\u003eDelmira de Cao, whose son died in the campaign, said the month (April 2006), Argentinean President Nestor Kirchner reiterated that the Falkland Islands - known as the Malvinas in Argentina - will remain a priority issue on the government''s agenda.\u003cbr/\u003eThe exhibition will run to June 2, after which there are plans to take it to other Argentinian cities and then on to various Latin American countries including Peru, Uruguay, Cuba and Venezuela. \u003cbr/\u003eGeneral Leopoldo Galtieri, the former Argentine dictator who ordered the 1982 invasion of the islands and touched off a 10-week war with Britain, died two years ago
