It follows the plot of the original closely, but moves the action to Boston.\u003cbr/\u003e'The Departed' follows two men from opposite sides of the law, undercover within the Boston State Police department and the Irish mafia. Violence and bloodshed erupts when discoveries are made, and the moles are dispatched to find out their enemy's identities.\u003cbr/\u003eDespite the sensational, plot driven script - Scorsese's main goal was to make a straightforward, entertaining film.  Nevertheless, the famously perfectionist director was fine tuning his latest picture right up until the last minute.\u003cbr/\u003e\"..We just kept adding and changing and reshaping the picture until only a couple of weeks ago, three weeks ago and we were still shooting a little bit here and there and changing the editing and music and that sort of thing.
