The look is completed with a three tier cake adorned with the Union flag - or Union Jack as it's commonly known. \u003cbr/\u003eThe hotly anticipated Ideal Home Show 2012 is the place this spring to discover the latest trends in British living, in what promises to be a huge year for the UK capital.\u003cbr/\u003eGeorge Clark, an interior designer and architect, explains why this year is so important for Britain and British design.\u003cbr/\u003e\"We've got the Ideal Home Show, we've got the Jubilee, we've got the Olympics which is going to be amazing, and actually it's encapsulated all in a house like this because every single part of this building or as much as possible is British, British-built British-made and British-constructed, and I think this year we should be celebrating Britain in every single way, and this house does it,\" he says.\u003cbr/\u003eAnd in Jubilee year it is perhaps apt the show was officially opened by His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Prince began his visit to the show by touring the Arts and Crafts House, a product of the Prince's Foundation, which is dedicated to sustainable development with community at its heart. \u003cbr/\u003eThe Prince's Foundation has signed a five year partnership with the Ideal Home Show to demonstrate that British living can be sustainable as well as stylish.\u003cbr/\u003eThe Arts and Crafts House is a revolutionary, low energy and eco-friendly build using quality British materials. \u003cbr/\u003eThe kitchen and bathroom boast English tiles and a worktop made from slates from England's last slate quarry.\u003cbr/\u003eIn an iconic year for London, the show proudly displays the best that Britain has to offer, and this reflects the increasing cool factor of the UK as a global product. \u003cbr/\u003eLaurence Llewelyn-Bowen, an interior designer, says: \"We can never lose that rock and roll fun from the interior, you know. So yes, I think Britishness is bang on in terms of trends.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAlso in abundance at the show is the Union Jack design.\u003cbr/\u003eBut this striking red, blue and white design is just as likely to be seen on T-shirts and handbags in Paris, Tokyo and New York as on the streets of London. \u003cbr/\u003eBritish designers Decorexi also incorporate iconic British images - such as the Beatles and the Bulldog - into their designs, from stands to sofas. \u003cbr/\u003eTrisha Joyce, Director of Decorexi Design, says: \"Amazingly one of our biggest customers of Union Jack items is France. They love a Union Jack. I think the Union Jack is such an iconic symbol and a lot of countries don't have that in their flag, and they want this look. At the moment everybody wants the British look, the iconic Union Jack look. Great. It's great for us.\"\u003cbr/\u003eAs for an emblem specific to the capital, what could be more iconic than the red double-decker bus? \u003cbr/\u003eWallpaper designer Barbara Chandler has included the much-loved Routemaster into her wallpaper designs. \u003cbr/\u003eChandler says: \"It's a great way of celebrating what we feel about London now.
