The landmark vote for gay rights is expected Saturday.\u003cbr/\u003eThe House had passed an identical version of the bill earlier this week.\u003cbr/\u003eRepeal would mean that, for the first time in American history, gays would be openly accepted by the military and could acknowledge their sexual orientation without fear of being kicked out.\u003cbr/\u003eMore than 13 thousand service members have been dismissed under don't ask don't tell since it became lay back in 19-93.\u003cbr/\u003ePassage represents a big win for the White House, which has been pushing to repeal the ban.\u003cbr/\u003eStill, this bill isn't without its detractors.\u003cbr/\u003eEven if it does pass as expected, the policy change wouldn't go into effect right away and may take as long as a year to
